the weekend

I had the bestest weekend ever. I wasn't in Lincoln, IL.

Left Friday night, picked up Aubs in Champaign, and headed to Indy to stay w/ the Fisher's in Avon. (They're the family I lived w/ last year during my internship and they are wonderful!) So, Melissa met us and stayed w/ us as well, and we had a good time catching up there. Saturday, we headed to Indian Creek for the Aaron & Shauna Johnson wedding. After that, Aubs and I went to Brownsburg, stayed w/ Julia, cooked out and had a "Christian party" (that's our little joke, actually) w/ some old One 5 Oh buddies who all work & live in Brownsburg now. Went to Brownsburg Christian Church on Sunday and now I'm trying to decipher my own desires from the Lord's nudging...

Is God calling me to move or am I just in love with leaving Lincoln? That is the question of the day. (along with when? how? where? what should i do?)

I've always had some weird connection w/ Brownsburg, Indiana, and I don't know why. After hanging out w/ my friends there Sat. night I just couldn't get over what a great time it was. It was nice to hang out w/ people--some who know me well and some who hardly do at all--and feel completely comfortable and have so much fun. Sometimes in Lincoln where all is familiar it seems more uncomfortable than comfortable...maybe a feeling of being unsettled...

so what's next? I'm not sure. i'm trying to figure out my piece in the puzzle. For now I'll just leave it at this: I had a great weekend and it was refreshing to see so many familiar faces that I love. Color me encouraged.

one time on the way to my uncle's house in louisville my parent's discovered a subway/ice cream shop owned by some indian people, and now they insist that we stop there every time we go. and they like, catch up with these people like they're our best friends. that's indians for ya. so if you move there, we'll be sure to introduce you. miss you and talk to you soon.

love always

dude, i have been there several times! i also have memories at that place! heidi and i stopped and got ice cream there 3 years ago when we were on our way to cincinnati and they gave us these plastic things to hold your cone in and they were called "The Buddy System." We laughed endlessly about the buddy system and we've both kept our plastic cone holders since then! i should see if they still have those!

Sounds like you have "hit the wall" like many of us have. There is something about closing chapters and starting the next. Although you have enjoyed the content of one you're in, you can't help but anticipate what adventures, mystery, and passion is held in the pages of the next chapter. Live up the moments you have now, but I encourage you to listen to the whispers and feel the nudges. God has gifted you in beautiful ways and it may just be time to see where he can take you next. (And you're right...along with all of that you are probably in love with leaving Lincoln! ;) Who hasn't been at one time or another?)

Lindy,
Thanks so much for those words. I definitely think there is a time when we all "hit the wall" in Lincoln. I'm very excited about new possibilities and adventures that will happen, but some even happen here in Lincoln. As much as I'd like to be elsewhere somedays, I think there is a purpose to be fulfilled here as well. for how long? i have no idea...that's the problem!
